Jennifer Harrison

Instructor

Jennifer Harrison is a multifaceted dance educator and trainer with a career spanning over three decades. Her foundational training was received through the comprehensive dance program at Ryerson University (now Toronto Metropolitan University). She further honed her pedagogical skills through teacher training and professional development programs with Canada’s National Ballet School.

Ms. Harrison is certified with several prestigious training and examining bodies, ensuring her methodology aligns with the highest professional standards. For twenty years, she was the owner and artistic director of a recognized dance studio in Burlington. Under her leadership, the institution became an award-winning presence in the competitive dance community, known for its comprehensive training and artistic excellence. A highlight of her time as director was bringing the community together each year with a full-length children’s production of The Nutcracker Ballet, which grew into a beloved local tradition.

Her expertise extends well beyond the studio. Behind the scenes, Ms. Harrison has managed backstage operations for major competitions and contributed her skills on television sets, ensuring the smooth coordination of complex productions. She has also shared her leadership as a board member with local arts communities.

These diverse experiences have established Ms. Harrison as a sought-after teacher, choreographer, and adjudicator. While she is highly regarded for her work with pre-professional and competitive dancers, her primary passion lies in fostering a love for movement in children, building their foundation with discipline and joy.

Jennifer Harrison is committed to the art of dance and the craft of teaching. She is thrilled to be part of the CM Dancing faculty and looks forward to sharing her extensive experience, deep knowledge, and love of dance with her students.

  • Fun Fact: After her very first ballet class at age 3, she wanted to quit because the other kids “weren’t taking it seriously enough.” 😂
